Dr Lori has been practicing in the Long Island, NY area for the past 20+ years. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University and her Masters in Physical Therapy from Long Island University. She completed her Doctorate of Philosophy degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Lori is certified in LSVT Big and Rock Steady Boxing. Lori is an Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Education at the Department of Physical Therapy at the New York Institute of Technology. Her research interests include studying the impact of exercise intensity on recovery and the use of technology in rehabilitation.
Lori has extensive background working in a variety of settings and has broad experience in working with a variety of neurological conditions and believes everyone has the ability to exercise.

Lori maintains her clinical work and treats individuals with SCI through a non-profit organization called Empower SCI that runs a 2-week residential rehabilitation program on Stony Brook University’s campus each summer.
Upon entering the profession, Lori worked at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, NY treating patients recovering from a wide variety of neurological and orthopedic impairments. She spent several years as the Senior PT on the Brain Injury Unit before becoming the Rehabilitation Supervisor of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit.
Lori received her certificate of competency in Vestibular Rehabilitation in 2002 from Emory University and, in 2006, became a board certified Neurological Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Lori has held several positions in the New York Physical Therapy Association, including Long Island District Chapter Director, Membership Liaison, Programming Committee member, Awards Committee member, and Delegate to the NYPTA Delegate Assembly, participating in events locally and at the state level. She is currently the Chair of the Long Island District, and previously held the position of Vice Chair. The groundwork for her involvement in the APTA started in PT school as the student liaison to the Brooklyn/Staten Island District. Lori was awarded the Mary McMillan Student Award from the APTA for her contributions in this role.
